Colour, it’s a personal thing.
I’d say 9 out of 10 of you are asking for grey….grey what?….grey blue, grey brown, greige…do you know how many greys are in the colour spectrum? When clients come in , I often ask them to close their eyes and envision their completed renovation. What colour do you see? Please note, “SPA like” is not a colour !!
One of the most used Benjamin Moore colours to date aside from cloud white is HC172 Revere Pewter. It’s a brilliant tone because it morfs to the environment it’s put in. Sometimes seen as greige, sometime soft platinum , it answers a lot of the grey choices. When in doubt..HC172 !! It will look different in your home than your neighbours!
One of the first things to do when renovating ,is to establish a palette. Create a palette for your entire home and then work room by room to have continuity and flow throughout the space. A neutral decor may be soothing and relaxing but can be boring until you create interest by adding texture, contrast , MattOr shine elements. They all play an integral part in the overall design. This also sets you apart from your neighbours! Remember, paint is just that…it’s the easiest of elements to change but can make the largest statement.
Don’t be afraid to paint a ceiling in the wall tone to create height….it’s all about balance. Colour today can be used as back ground music to emote a feeling. Gone are the days where each wall is painted in a different strength of colour…this makes the paint the most important thing in the space. We want the space to feel in harmony with all of your choices.
